Indian startups raise $130 million in a quieter week
Inc42 counts $130.2 million across 32 deals for 26 to 30 October 2026, down 29% on the week; fintech was thin, led by Mochatrade and Tradl.
Indian startups raised $130.2 million across 32 deals in the week of 26 to 30 October 2026, down 29.2% from $184 million the week before, according to Inc42's weekly tally. Deal count rose 88% from 17, so cheques were smaller on average. Fintech was a small part of it: the two fintech rounds in the table were seed rounds in investment tech. Fintech.global, tracking global fintech funding, also flagged one of them as the only deal in its weekly list aimed at Indian users.
The week's pattern
Inc42's table lists ecommerce as the busiest sector, with 9 deals worth $33.4 million, followed by AI with 5 deals and $30.4 million, enterprise services with 3 deals and $9.5 million, and advanced hardware and technology with 5 deals and $6.8 million. Blume Ventures and Antler were the most active investors, with three deals each.
The largest rounds were Cent, a healthtech start-up co-founded by Practo's Shashank ND, which raised $15 million in a Series A led by Blume Ventures; Simplismart, an AI infrastructure company, $14 million in a Series B with Dallas Venture Capital and NVIDIA among investors; Live2.ai, $13.7 million pre-Series B led by IvyCap Ventures; and snack brand Troovy, $10.5 million in a Series B led by Fireside Ventures. Gaming startup Matiks raised $10 million from General Catalyst and others. Figures are as tallied by Inc42; amounts for some rounds are partly secondary transactions, which Inc42 flags.
The fintech rounds
Two fintech deals appear in Inc42's list. Mochatrade raised a $5.5 million seed round led by CoinFund with Coinbase Ventures and Zero Knowledge Ventures. Fintech.global reports the same company's seed at $6 million, with Y Combinator among backers. The difference between $5.5 million and $6 million is not explained in either source, so use "about $5.5 to 6 million" until the company confirms. Tradl raised a $4.1 million seed round, listed as 26 October, backed by Nexus Venture Partners and Stellaris Venture Partners.
Fintech.global says Mochatrade is based in New York and offers leveraged trading in tokenised US stocks to Indian users, with margin held in rupees and deposits made through UPI. A tokenised share is a digital token meant to track the price of a real share. The report does not say how the product is regulated in India, and neither source addresses that, so readers should treat the product as untested against Indian rules until the company or a regulator says more.
How India compares with global fintech funding
The global picture was much larger. Fintech.global counted over $2.6 billion across 19 deals in the week to 30 October, up from $541 million across 16 deals the week before. Prediction-market exchange Kalshi alone raised $1 billion at a $40 billion valuation, according to the report. Mochatrade was the only deal in that list aimed at Indian users. That shows how small India's weekly fintech funding is against the biggest US rounds, though the two trackers use different definitions, so the totals should not be compared directly.
What it means for readers
For founders, a 29% fall in dollars with a near doubling of deal count suggests investors are writing more, smaller cheques, mostly at seed and early stages. AI infrastructure and application companies drew a large share, while ecommerce brands drew the most deals. For fintech founders, the week had no growth-stage round in the table, so funding appears to be concentrated in early-stage and investment-tech products. Lenders and investors should note that the two rounds relate to trading products, not lending or payments.
One week is a weak basis for a trend, since weekly totals swing with a few large cheques and Inc42 counts only disclosed rounds.
