Atomberg gets SEBI nod for IPO with Rs 450 crore fresh issue
SEBI has cleared fan maker Atomberg's IPO: a Rs 450 crore fresh issue plus a 7.65 crore-share sale. Revenue grew 34.8% but losses remain large.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has cleared Atomberg Technologies to go ahead with its initial public offering, with observations dated 30 October 2026, Inc42, Entrackr and IPO Guru reported. The energy-efficient fan maker plans a fresh issue of up to Rs 450 crore and an offer for sale of up to 7.65 crore shares. The price band and launch date have not been announced.
What the clearance means
SEBI's "observation letter" is the green light a company needs before it can file its final offer document, the red herring prospectus (RHP), and open the issue to investors. According to IPO Guru, the approval is valid for 12 months, so Atomberg can choose its timing within that window. IPO Guru says the company filed its draft papers (DRHP) on 24 August 2026.
How the issue is structured
The IPO has two parts. The fresh issue raises new money for the company: up to Rs 450 crore. The offer for sale (OFS) lets existing shareholders sell shares, so that money goes to them and not to the company. Inc42 names A91 Partners, Temasek Holdings and Inflexor Ventures among those who plan to sell. Entrackr and IPO Guru add that A91, an investor since 2019, has already sold shares worth about Rs 445 crore ahead of the IPO and still holds about 21%, per the company's disclosures.
Of the fresh issue, Inc42 and Entrackr list these uses:
- Rs 90 crore to repay or prepay borrowings
- Rs 150 crore for brand awareness and performance marketing
- Rs 100 crore for research and development
- The rest for general corporate purposes
ICICI Securities, Avendus Capital and IIFL Capital Services are the lead managers, according to Entrackr and IPO Guru. IPO Guru adds that an Economic Times report in July had pointed to a Rs 1,500 to 2,000 crore issue, but the filed structure is different, and the final size will depend on the price band.
The numbers behind the story
Revenue from operations rose 34.8% to Rs 1,293.77 crore in FY26 from Rs 959.51 crore in FY25. That is the figure all three outlets agree on.
The losses are less clear-cut. Inc42 reports a consolidated net loss that widened 26.8% to Rs 148.9 crore from Rs 117.4 crore. Entrackr and IPO Guru give the same FY26 loss of Rs 148.88 crore but say it narrowed from Rs 199.08 crore. These cannot both be right, and we have not seen the prospectus, so treat the direction of the loss as unconfirmed. Entrackr and IPO Guru also report adjusted EBITDA (operating profit with some items stripped out) of Rs 37.12 crore, down from Rs 51.35 crore.
So the company is growing fast but is not yet profitable, and the thin or falling operating profit is something prospective investors will want explained.
Who Atomberg is
Entrackr says Atomberg was founded in 2012 by Manoj Meena, with Sibabrata Das joining as co-founder in 2013. It began with energy-efficient ceiling fans and now sells mixer grinders, water purifiers and juicers. A subsidiary, Atomberg Innovations, supplies its own motors and controllers to enterprise customers including Voltas, Godrej and Blue Star. No outlet we opened gave a market-share figure.
What it means for founders and investors
For startup founders, the clearance is a reminder that a company can reach the IPO stage while still reporting a loss, provided it passes SEBI's review of its disclosures. For investors, the key documents are the RHP and its price band, which will show the valuation and how much of the issue is sellers cashing out versus new capital. This article is not advice to apply or avoid.

What to watch next
Watch for the RHP filing, the price band and the issue dates. Also watch whether the company explains the discrepancy in how its loss is reported.
