BlackBuck Q2 revenue up 56% to Rs 235 crore; profit 42% higher
Truck-tech firm BlackBuck reported Rs 235 crore revenue and Rs 41.4 crore profit for Q2 FY27; its small lending arm made a loss.
BlackBuck, a listed trucking-technology platform, reported consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 235 crore for the July-September quarter of 2026-27 (Q2 FY27), up 56% from a year earlier. Net profit rose 42% to Rs 41.4 crore from Rs 29.2 crore. Entrackr reported the unaudited numbers, filed with BSE, on 29 October 2026. We found no second report of this quarter's results, so the Q2 figures are single-source; we used earlier BlackBuck coverage only for background.
What BlackBuck reported
Almost all revenue came from truck operator services: Rs 232 crore, about 99% of operating revenue, up from Rs 148.7 crore a year earlier. Inc42's report on the previous quarter describes BlackBuck as offering vehicle tracking, fuel payment aggregation and telematics, the data from sensors on vehicles. For the first half of FY27, operating revenue rose 49% to Rs 439.5 crore and net profit rose 33% to Rs 84 crore.
Revenue also grew about 15% from the previous quarter, when Inc42 reported operating revenue of Rs 204.2 crore, while net profit slipped slightly from Rs 42.2 crore. That is our comparison of the two reports, not a figure either gives.
Why profit grew slower than it looks
The 42% jump in net profit flatters the quarter. Profit before tax rose only 10%, to Rs 42.8 crore from Rs 38.9 crore, and a lower tax charge lifted the final figure. Total expenses rose 64% to Rs 210 crore, faster than revenue. "Other expenses" nearly doubled to Rs 141 crore from Rs 72.9 crore, employee costs rose to Rs 45 crore from Rs 42 crore, and depreciation and amortisation more than doubled to Rs 24.5 crore from Rs 12.4 crore. Entrackr did not explain these increases, so we cannot say whether they come from new investment or a change in the business mix.
The lending arm
The fintech angle is small. BlackBuck's lending business earned Rs 3.4 crore, against Rs 2.8 crore a year ago, but lost Rs 1.7 crore, up from a loss of Rs 77.5 lakh. Inc42 said last quarter that BlackBuck's non-bank lender, BlackBuck Finserve, was designated a material subsidiary because its net worth exceeded 10% of the group's, but gave no lending figures. Entrackr gave no detail on the loan book, bad loans or how the loans are funded. A lender is judged by how many borrowers repay, and that is exactly the missing number.
The market view
At 3 PM on 29 October the shares traded at Rs 568.40, a market value of Rs 10,413 crore, according to Entrackr. Inc42 reported the shares closed at Rs 521 after the June-quarter results. We have no explanation for the price moves, and none of this is a view on the shares.
What it means for readers
For truckers and fleet owners, BlackBuck's growth shows how fuel payments, tracking and credit are being bundled on one app. Logistics founders can note that scale has not yet widened pre-tax profit much. Investors and lenders weighing the credit side should look for the loan book size, bad loans and funding cost in the company's filings, since this quarter's lending line is tiny and loss-making.
What to watch next
Watch for BlackBuck's investor presentation and full filing for lending detail, and for Q3 FY27 results, expected around the end of January 2027 if the pattern of past quarters holds. Also watch whether expenses keep growing faster than revenue.
Key takeaways
- BlackBuck reported Rs 235 crore of revenue and Rs 41.4 crore of net profit for Q2 FY27, according to a single Entrackr report.

- Truck operator services made up about 99% of operating revenue, while lending made Rs 3.4 crore of revenue and a Rs 1.7 crore loss.
- The loan book and bad-loan figures have not been reported, so the lending arm cannot yet be judged.
